Stars, Sails, Ships, and Spilt Milk
I have a journal in which I record my own guru thoughts; I am the guru. I utilize this exercise to help me learn and recall that I can trust myself and that I have intuitive answers. I adapted the exercise from the book "Leaving the Fold."
Following are thoughts written on two different days....from my guru (me)....to me:
One day: "You are the captain of the sailing ship. You have a course, a destination. The journey is not a short one; there will be episodes of turmoil and danger. There will be calm days and nights. You raise various sails according to the winds. Sometimes all sails are raised; other times all are lowered. At times you drift, and at times you anchor. You get off course, navigate the stars, and get back on course.
The stars guide, and gravity keeps you centered. Two main ingredients for self-reliance."
Another day: "You are an evolving being. You have strengths; you have weaknesses. Acknowledge the weaknesses and don't allow them more power or credit than they possess. Celebrate the strengths. Allow them access and call on them for help.
Today is unsteady. Hold the wheel. Adjust the sails. Be aware of the vortex and remember the stars.
If the milk bottle falls and spills during the storm; that's o.k. Just clean up the spill."
